Russia adds Belarusian journalists, dissidents to its database of wanted people

May 13, Pozirk. In the last six months, Russia added 1,118 Belarusians, including seven journalists, to its database of wanted people, Mediazona reported. In all, the database features nearly 6,000 Belarusians. Some of them are wanted for political reasons.

The additions include investigative journalist Tacciana Ašurkievič, Uljana Babajed of Deutsche Welle, journalists Alena Hiermanovič, Alaksandar Ivulin and Alaksandar Čarnucha, as well as media consultant Dzianis Vasilkoŭ and Maksim Paršuta, the host of the Zrobliena ŭ Polščy show.

The database includes former Belarusian political prisoners and other individuals convicted on politically motivated charges, including those sentenced in connection with 2020 peaceful postelection protests.
