BelPol flags another Russian-linked Belarusian defense company not subject to sanctions
September 7, Pozirk. BelPol, an exiled Belarusian investigative group, has identified another Belarusian company working for Russia’s military industry without being subject to sanctions.
NPP Contactmodule, a research and development enterprise based in Minsk, “has been unfairly overlooked by organizations involved in sanctions policy,” BelPol says in a report published on Monday.
The company manufactures products for data input and display in challenging operating conditions, including onboard control systems and computers, instrument panels, control consoles, monitors, special-purpose displays, and automated workstations, the report says.
BelPol claims Contactmodule has been supplying its goods to Russian defense industry customers, including Penza-based Radiozavod, Moscow-based Oboronitelnyye Sistemy (Defense Systems), Kuntsevo and Rosoboronexport, Omsk Instrument-Building Research Institute and Vladivostok-based Izumrud.
BelPol says that the Belarusian company has cooperated with the Russian defense sector for years. In 2019, Contactmodule was reportedly developing control panels for an automation and fire-control system for Russia’s Air and Missile Defense Forces.
In 2026, the company is scheduled to deliver control panels and cockpit keyboards for the Pechora 2M anti-aircraft missile system to Oboronitelnyye Sistemy.
The report describes the case of Contactmodule as a “clear example of how a Belarusian company can become a hub for the assembly of military products” for Russia.
According to BelPol, a significant share of the components used by the company are electronic parts and materials of US and European origin. For example, the company reportedly uses electronic components from manufacturers such as Texas Instruments and Switzerland’s STMicroelectronics.
Belarusian authorities support Russia in the full-scale war against Ukraine launched by Moscow in February 2022. Hundreds of Belarusian industrial companies are reportedly manufacturing and supplying goods for Russia’s war effort.
