Cyberpartisans, Silent Crow claim responsibility for attack on Russia’s Rosstat

(Silent Crow)

November 1, Pozirk. Cyberpartisans By and its partner Silent Crow have claimed responsibility for an attack on the IT infrastructure of Russia’s Rosstat statistics agency.

The hacktivist groups said they had taken control of around 25,000 computers at central and regional centers and accessed economic and personal data, correspondence and some information related to Russia’s casualties in its war against Ukraine.

Rosstat has denied that hackers accessed its databases, saying its infrastructure had properly responded to the attack, Kommersant reported.

Russia’s Supreme Court declared Belarus’ Cyberpartisans By and Silent Crow “extremist groups” on July 21.

The court said the two groups allegedly carried out joint cyberattacks to destabilize the social and political situation in Russia and Belarus and overthrow their constitutional order.
