Belarus’ official coronavirus death toll rises to 5,466

December 24. The total number of confirmed coronavirus infection cases in Belarus increased by 1,921 from 689,151 on Thursday to 691,072 on Friday, with the death toll rising by 17 from 5,449 to 5,466, according to the country’s health ministry.

The ministry said that a total of 683,403 people had recovered from the coronavirus, and 2,153 people had been discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.

As many as 10,919,017 tests for the coronavirus had been carried out in the country by Thursday, with 21,716 tests conducted in the past 24 hours.

As of December 23, as many as 4,515,000 people in Belarus had already received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and over 3,476,000 people had been fully vaccinated with two doses.
