Belarus’ official coronavirus death toll rises to 5,499

December 26. The total number of confirmed coronavirus infection cases in Belarus increased by 983 from 692,601 on Saturday to 693,584 on Sunday, with the death toll rising by 15 from 5,484 to 5,499, according to the country’s health ministry.

The ministry said that a total of 686,275 people had recovered from the coronavirus, and 1,236 people had been discharged from hospitals over the past 24 hours.

As many as 10,959,782 tests for the coronavirus had been carried out in the country by Saturday, with 21,188 tests conducted in the past 24 hours.

As of December 24, as many as 4,587,000 people in Belarus had already received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and over 3,517,000 people had been fully vaccinated with two doses.
