Official expects food export revenue to exceed $8 billion in 2022
December 21, BPN. Agricultural export revenue amounted to $6.8 billion in the first ten months of 2022, Deputy Prime Minister Leanid Zajac told Belarusian MPs at a joint session of both houses of the National Assembly.
It was higher than revenue for 2021 and is on pace to exceed $8 billion in 2022, he said.
The official linked the increase to favorable prices and growing volumes of exports. According to him, an increase of 5.3 percent was recorded in exports of meat and meat products, of 20 percent in sales of rapeseed oil, and of seven percent in exports of potatoes.
On December 7, the Eurasian Economic Commission said that Belarus posted a 3.5-percent increase in agricultural production and a 23.1-percent rise in agricultural producer prices.
