Kaleśnikava still in prison’s medical unit – report
December 21, BPN. Viktar Babaryka’s campaign has said that Maryja Kaleśnikava still remains in the Homiel penal colony’s medical unit.
“According to the administration of the colony, Masha is feeling well and her appetite is OK. She was allowed to receive food suitable for a speedy recovery,” it said on Telegram.
Lat month, law enforcers placed former presidential hopeful Viktar Babaryka’s jailed campaign manager Maryja Kaleśnikava in Homiel’s emergency hospital. She was operated on on November 28.
In early December, they transferred her back to the penal colony, where, in a medical unit, she had a 10-minute meeting with her father.
Babaryka’s campaign said the urgent hospitalization with a perforated ulcer and peritonitis “was a result of disproportionately cruel detention in a punitive cell.”
