Union State programs in microelectronics significantly reduced
December 22, BPN. Electronics and microelectronics will be in the spotlight in the Union State, its state secretary Dmitry Mezentsev told Vladimir Putin on December 21.
According to the Kremlin’s press office, Putin asked the diplomat why in 2000-2020 26 percent of all funds were allocated to projects in electronics and microelectronics, while only nine percent were planned for 2021-2027, and the number of programs was reduced from 18 to two.
Mezentsev said this was a projection. “The new algorithm for working on Union State programs […] determines that it will take one year to develop a program, not three to four years, as before. And we have made this forecast taking into account operational proposals of ministries and agencies as these programs’ state customers,” he added.
Potential customers would pay priority attention to the high-tech sphere, the state secretary said.
Praising the industry in Belarus (“certain things have remained undissolved since Soviet times”), Putin stressed that “Russia needs it.” “We will give it more attention as a matter of principle,” Mezentsev said.
