Łukašenka should be tried for seizure of power, treason, crimes against humanity – opposition leader
January 4, BPN. “We all know that the dictator [Alaksandr] Łukašenka should be the one on trial for the seizure of power, high treason and crimes against humanity,” Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has tweeted.
Her comment comes in response to the announcement of the trial date against her and four other opposition activists, scheduled for January 17 in Minsk. The trial will be held without the defendants being present.
Along with Cichanoŭskaja, the case involves her campaign manager Maryja Maroz, and associates Pavieł Łatuška, Volha Kavalkova and Siarhiej Dyleŭski.
