Belarus exports $8.3bn worth of agricultural products in 2022
February 15, BPN. Belarus exported $8.3 billion worth of agricultural products in 2022, Deputy Agriculture Minister Vadzim Šahojka told reporters in Minsk on February 15.
“We have achieved record-breaking results,” the official said. “A 25 percent increase compared with last year. The share of agricultural products in the country’s total exports already exceeds 20 percent.”
According to him, the products are supplied to about 100 countries, but Russia has been and remains the “main premium market,” accounting for some 70 percent of Belarus’ exports.
The deputy minister noted that Belarus was actively working to expand supply routes, including to Asian countries. Much attention was being paid to the vast Chinese market, he said.
Belarus was also sending test batches to Africa to study customer preferences, he added.
According to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Belarus ranked fourth in the Russian-led union in 2022 in terms of agricultural production growth.
