February 26, BPN. Heavy snowfall accompanied by gusty wind disrupted the power supply to settlements in the Viciebsk region on February 26, the Ministry of Energy reported.
“Polack, Lepel, Rasony, Ušačy, Biešankovičy, Haradok and Šumilina districts suffered the most from the disaster. The main reason for the emergency shutdowns is heavy snow and wind, which caused trees and their branches to fall on power line wires,” it said.
Thirty-one teams of power engineers (over 100 people) and 33 units of equipment are involved in eliminating the consequences. Restoration work is underway in 113 settlements.
