US Department of State concerned about Łukašenka’s visit to China
February 28, BPN. The United States views Alaksandr Łukašenka’s visit to China as proof of deeper relationship between Moscow and Beijing, Ned Price, spokesperson for the US Department of State, told journalists.
China’s engagement “with Łukašenka, who has, in effect, ceded his own sovereignty to Russia” is another element of China’s deepening engagement with Russia, with all those “supporting Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine,” Price said.
Earlier, the US-based Institute for the Study of War linked Łukašenka’s visit to China’s intentions to use Belarus for covert weapons supplies to Russia to evade Western sanctions.
Łukašenka’s state visit to China is taking place from February 28 to March 2.
