Łukašenka says interested in Paraguay in congratulatory message to president-elect
May 3, BPN. Belarus is interested in advancing its relationship with Paraguay “on the basis of mutual respect an understanding, in order to protect our states’ independence and maintain a just world order,” Alaksandr Łukašenka told President-elect Santiago Peña in a congratulatory message.
“I am convinced that under your leadership, the country will assert its international authority and reach considerable results in defending its national interests, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the Paraguayan people,” Łukašenka said, as quoted by his press office today.
He noted that the president-elect could count on Belarus as a “reliable and responsible partner.”
The candidate for the conservative Colorado Party scored a strong victory on April 30. He is positioning himself as a politician of the new generation more concerned about the economy, news reports said.
