January 30, Pozirk. The Council of Ministers approved a draft agreement with China’s government on technical and economic assistance as a basis for negotiations, says the document published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
The Belarusian government has authorized the economy ministry to hold the talks and the foreign ministry, to sign the treaty.
The document does not specify for what purposes the Chinese funds will be used.
Since 2015, Belarus has reportedly been receiving $130 million a year in technical and economic assistance from China for projects to build social housing, facilities at the Great Stone Belarusian-Chinese Industrial Park, a soccer stadium and a swimming pool in Minsk.
