Access might have been blocked by the government. However, the information ministry has not officially announced any measures, as it usually does when access restrictions are imposed.
Readers in the country can reach the site through VPN services only.
A district court in Minsk declared Pozirk.online extremist content on December 5.
The site was launched on October 16 by members of the former team of BelaPAN, Belarus’ oldest independent news agency that had been banned in 2021.
BelaPAN‘s former executives are serving long prison sentences on extremism-related and other charges.
The Committee to Protect Journalists and other media freedom watchdogs have condemned the persecution as politically motivated.
