Belarus’ foreign trade surplus shrinks in 2023

February 12, Pozirk. Belarus’ surplus in trade in goods and services narrowed to $480.7 million in 2023, the central bank said.

Last year, trade in goods and services rose by 6.8 percent to $95.3 billion, with exports up 2.1 percent and imports soaring by 12.1 percent.

Trade in goods amounted to $81.9 billion, with exports and imports rising 4.6 and 12 percent, respectively.

Trade in services was at $14.2 billion, with exports falling 7.9 percent and imports climbing by 12.7 percent.

The government projected a 5.5-percent increase in goods and services exports in 2023.
