April 19, Pozirk. The European Union countries have approved duties on imports of grains, oilseeds and processed products, including wheat, corn and sunflower meal, from Russia and Belarus, Deutsche Welle reported.

The participants in the EU summit in Brussels urged the EU Council and the European Commission to proceed with additional duties, noting that restrictions should not affect the transit of the affected products to developing countries.

In 2023, the EU reportedly imported grain products worth about €1.3 billion from Russia.
