Łukašenka appoints ministers of justice, natural resources

April 22, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka has appointed Siarhiej Maślak as minister of natural resources and environment, Jaŭhien Kavalenka as minister of justice and Alena Marhunova as chair of the State Committee for Standardization (Dziaržstandart), the Belarusian leader’s press office reported.
The new environment minister had led the administration of Minsk’s Zavodski district. The dismissal or transfer to another job of the previous minister, Andrej Chudyk, was not reported.
Prior to the appointment, Kavalenka headed the Presidential Administration’s Main State and Law Directorate, which drafts presidential edicts, decrees and bills.
Marhunova’s work at Dziaržstandart will not be new to her. Previously, she served as the committee’s first deputy chair.
Łukašenka also approved the appointment of Siarhiej Łukaševič as first deputy minister of foreign affairs, Juryj Horbič as first deputy minister of health, Alaksandar Staravojtaŭ as deputy minister of health, Śviatłana Niačaj as deputy minister of health and chief state sanitary physician and Volha Rybaklučava as director of the education ministry’s quality control department.
Aleh Stelmašok was cleared to take over as deputy chairman of the Mahiloŭ Regional Executive Committee; Ihar Burmistraŭ, as chairman of the Navapołack City Executive Committee in the Viciebsk Region; Dźmitryj Kadrhułaŭ, as chairman of the Bierastavica District Executive Committee in the Hrodna Region; Siarhiej Miadźvieckas, as chairman of the Astraviec District Executive Committee in the Hrodna Region; Alaksiej Žuraŭloŭ, as chairman of the Hłusk District Executive Committee in the Mahiloŭ region; Viačasłaŭ Maksačoŭ, as chairman of the Kaściukovičy District Executive Committee in the Mahiloŭ region.
Alaksiej Vasiučenka was appointed as head of the administration of Homiel’s Navabielicki district. Andrej Bałtryk took over the administration of Hrodna’s Kastryčnicki district.
