BTA Bank changes hands

June 5, Pozirk. The BTA Bank has announced the acquisition of 99.93 percent of its shares, previously owned by Kazakhstan’s BTA Bank JSC, by another Kazakh company, Sultan Marenov’s SNRG Capital Eurasia.
The bank will change its name and become a part of his Singapore-based SNRG Capital Pte Ltd, specializing in digital banking, financial and information technologies and business consulting in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Marenov is said to be well familiar with the Belarusian market. He had served as chairman of the board at BTA Bank from 2005 to 2015.
Over the past five years, bank’s assets and loan portfolio have been rising. It offers services mostly to small and medium-size businesses as well as individuals.
