Belarusian Air/Air Defense Force commander in Iran

August 7, Pozirk. The Iranian Air Force is ready to develop defense and military relations with friendly countries and share its military production experience, Air Force Commander Hamid Vahedi said at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Andrej Łukjanovič.
Vahedi also accused the United States and the “Zionist regime” of warmongering, the Mehr News Agency reported.
He blamed the USA and Israel for all calamities and disasters in the region. He quoted Ruhollah Khomeini, the late Iranian leader, as calling the USA the main source of corruption and the “Great Satan” that seeks wars and conflicts and opposes the independence of countries with its domination.
“We believe that this child-killing Israeli regime is nearing its end. History shows that anyone who rules with oppression will not remain in power and will be annihilated ASAP,” the general said.
For his part, Łukjanovič said Belarus is also interested in developing defense and military ties with Iran and “attaches great importance” to the relationship.
The Belarusian delegation met with the commander-in-chief of the Iranian Army, Abdolrahim Mousavi, who noted Belarus’ strategic position as a barrier to NATO expansion.
Łukjanovič expressed a desire for broader and deeper military ties and exchange of “valuable experience” with Iran. He confirmed Belarus’ opposition to NATO expansion and invited Mousavi to visit his country.
