China’s premier to visit Belarus

August 19, Pozirk. China’s premier Li Qiang will visit Russia and Belarus on August 20-23, Xinhua news agency reported citing Mao Ning, spokeswoman for the Chinese foreign ministry.

In Belarus, Li will hold talks with his Belarusian counterpart Raman Hałoŭčanka.

China and Belarus enjoy an all-weather, comprehensive strategic partnership, and the relationship has maintained a good momentum in recent years thanks to the efforts and support of their leaders, Mao said.

The two countries have strengthened their political mutual trust and achieved fruitful results as part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, she added.

Initially, the Chinese premier’s visit to Belarus was planned for July 31, according to Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryžankoŭ.

Ryžankoŭ visited Beijing from July 6 to 9 and met with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

He also had a meeting with Liu Jianchao, in charge of international affairs for the Communist Party of China.
