Belarus reintroduces export duties on petroleum products
September 3, Pozirk. The Council of Ministers has reintroduced export duties on several groups of petroleum products leaving the Eurasian Economic Union’s common customs area via Belarus, says its Directive No 636 published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
The government set the export duty on liquefied hydrocarbon gas at $20.8 per ton; on ethane, butane and isobutane, at $18.7 per ton.
The duties on these products were abolished on February 1 after Minsk lifted duties on exports of crude oil, fuel oil, diesel fuel, oil bitumen, petroleum jelly, paraffin and other oil products at the start of 2024.
The rates are calculated according to a certain formula and depend on market prices. Belarusian duties are equal to Russian ones.
