Pushilin’s Belarus visit infuriates Kyiv

September 23, Pozirk. The Ukrainian foreign ministry yesterday issued a statement to denounce Alaksandar Łukašenka’s September 19 meeting in Minsk with Denis Pushilin, leader of the so-called Donetsk people’s republic.
It warned that Łukašenka’s “unfriendly actions” will not go unanswered.
Meanwhile, Pushilin told Belarus 1 in an interview broadcast yesterday that his republic cooperates with Belarusian producers of heavy, agricultural and utility equipment and announced a plan to launch a “multi-brand center” for Belarusian goods.
Economic cooperation should be focused on strengthening industrial ties with the localization and maintenance for delivered equipment, he said.
He also supported closer cooperation in taxation and employment.
“It’s no surprise that Putin’s puppet dictator in Belarus meets with another puppet leader from Donetsk,” Belarus’ opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja said on X.
“We know he has no allies left except tyrants and usurpers. But let everyone be clear – he does not represent our people. Belarusians stand with Ukraine all the way to victory.”
