Rubel down 3.4 percent against euro at BCSE

November 28, Pozirk. The rubel has depreciated to 3.8529 against the euro at the November 28 trading session of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange (BCSE), hitting record lows for two consecutive days.

The Belarusian currency fell to 3.5951 against the US dollar, plunging for the twelve past trading sessions.

The rubel also fell to 4.9056 per 10 Chinese yuan but climbed to 3.2927 per 100 Russian rubles.

Last week (November 18–22), the rubel lost 1.39 percent of its value against the dollar, 0.64 percent against the euro and 1.21 percent against the Chinese yuan but gained 0.69 percent against the Russian ruble.

The Belarusian currency lost 4.44 percent of its value against the dollar in the first 10 months of 2024.

Last week, economist Anatol Charytončyk played down fears of rubel depreciation, noting that the rubel has not weakened considerably against the central bank’s basket of currencies, which includes the Russian ruble (60 percent), the US dollar (30 percent) and the Chinese yuan (10 percent).
