Early voting turnout at 18 percent on second day
January 22, Pozirk. Some 18 percent of voters have cast their ballots in the two days of early voting, the Central Election Commission (CEC) reported.
This is a record two-day turnout for Belarusian elections, according to Pozirk‘s analysis of the CEC’s historical data.
The CEC reported a turnout of 19.35 percent for the Brest region, 18.36 percent for the Viciebsk region, 17.67 percent for the Homiel region, 15.13 percent for the Hrodna region, 17.72 percent for the Minsk region, 17.98 percent for the Mahiloŭ region and 17.2 percent for Minsk.
Officials recorded the previous record of 14.61 percent in the elections for parliament and local councils in 2024.
