Belarusian woman killed in car crash in Batumi
February 17, Pozirk. A 25-year old Belarusian woman was killed in a car crash in downtown Batumi, Georgia, early on February 16. Her boyfriend was seriously injured and is recovering in hospital after a coma, Raman Kislak, a Georgia-based human rights activist, told Pozirk.
The couple were riding back home in a taxi from the airport when the two-car collision occurred. The killed woman’s sister took a flight shortly before and learned about the accident on her arrival in Minsk.
Pozirk has a video of what happened at the scene in the first few minutes after the crash but would not publish it for ethical reasons.
The taxi driver was also hospitalized, while the other driver is under arrest.
