Opposition leader: future lies with those who retain their humanity

April 20, Pozirk. Easter celebrates the victory of good over evil, reminding of those who continued to believe and hope despite the dark times, Belarusian opposition leader Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja stressed in a video address released ahead of Easter which all Christians celebrate on April 20 this year.
Even when it seemed that evil was winning, neither fear nor lies and violence could overcome humanity and truth, she said, noting an importance of maintaining a close-knit community for Belarusians.
“Let this day remind us: the future lies with those who retain their humanity, with those who do not accept lies and continue to change the world through love and support,” the politician noted. “May our hearts be always full of light and kindness, and may this kindness guide us to a free country where there will be no place for violence, fear and hatred.”
