Belarus’ PM offers Azerbaijan reconstruction services

May 5, Pozirk. Minsk is ready to offer a comprehensive solution to Azerbaijan regarding the “restoration of territories,” including housing construction and industrial development, Prime Minister Alaksandar Turčyn has told his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov.
This type of assistance would help secure jobs and wages, Belarusian state-run media report, citing Turčyn.
Even though no geographical locations have been specified, the official most likely implied the Nagorno-Karabakh region that Azerbaijan captured from Armenia in 2023. An earlier announcement of his visit said he would inspect sites “in the territories that Azerbaijan is restoring after the hostilities.”
Over the last decade, Alaksandar Łukašenka supplied Azerbaijan with weapons, despite Belarus being a member of a Russia-led military alliance that includes Armenia and does not include Azerbaijan.
Łukašenka’s declarations of support for Azerbaijan and his tour of Nagorno-Karabakh in May 2024 sparked a rift with Armenia.
