Cold spell gripping Belarus in May

May 11, Pozirk. The Belarusian weather stations have been recording extremely low temperatures for this time of the year for six consecutive days, according to Pozirk’s analysis of Biełhidramiet’s data.
Last night, the air cooled off to -3 degrees Celsius in the Brest region’s Łuniniec district and -1 C in the Homiel region’s Akciabrski and Lelčycy.
These values were close to the absolute low for May 11 recorded eight years ago in Vierchniadźvinsk, Viciebsk region.
A total of 55 temperature lows have been reported across Belarus since the start of the month.
Cold weather is likely to maintain for the next few days, with forecasts of -4 C for May 12 and 13.
Weather in Belarus has been extremely unstable this spring, fluctuating between record highs and lows.
