Rubel strengthens, hitting 23-month high against dollar

May 29, Pozirk. The rubel has strengthened to 2.9968 against the US dollar at the May 29 trading session of the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange, hitting a record high since June 26, 2023.

The Belarusian currency climbed to 3.3811 per euro and 4.1464 per 10 Chinese yuan but dropped to 3.777 per 100 Russian rubles.

Last week (May 19 – 23), the rubel appreciated by 0.26 percent against the greenback and 0.2 percent against the euro, weakening 0.47 percent against the yuan and 1.17 percent against the Russian ruble.

The Belarusian currency gained 12.16 percent against the dollar in the first four months of 2025.
