Georgia’s Belarusians launch fundraiser for deadly car accident victim

July 18, Pozirk. The Belarusian community in Georgia’s Adjara has launched a fundraiser to cover surgery costs for the 26-year-old Artur Łašakoŭski, who lost his wife, and was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Batumi in mid-February.
His wife, a 25-year-old Belarusian woman, died when the cab, in which they were riding, collided with another car. The couple was returning home from the airport, after seeing off the woman’s sister.
The widowed man wears a neck brace, suffers from pain and has severely restricted mobility. Doctors advise a surgery as soon as possible to improve his chances of recovery, the fundraiser description says.
The preliminary treatment costs are estimated at around $3,300.
