Germany’s charge d’affaires presents credentials to deputy foreign minister

(mfa.by)
October 23, Pozirk. Germany’s chargé d’affaires in Belarus, Katrin aus dem Siepen, has presented copies of her credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Ihar Siakreta, the foreign ministry reported.
Like her predecessor, Andrea Wiktorin, the new head of the German diplomatic mission is not an ambassador, the diplomatic mission told Pozirk three weeks ago.
Most European Union countries are represented by chargé d’affaires in Belarus following the crackdown on 2020 postelection protests and politically-motivated reprisals that followed. Hungary and Slovakia are the two EU countries represented by ambassadors in Minsk.
