Rubel rises against US dollar, yuan at week’s last trading

November 21, Pozirk. The rubel has strengthened to 2.9214 against the US dollar at the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange.

The Belarusian currency also rose to 4.0901 per 10 yuan but dropped to 3.6949 per 100 Russian rubles.

The rubel has not traded against the European currency and remained at 3.4194 against the euro.

In the outgoing week (November 17–21), the rubel rose by 1.62 percent against the dollar, 0.91 percent against the euro and 2.34 against the yuan but depreciated by 0.68 percent against the ruble.

The Belarusian currency gained 14.29 percent against the dollar in the first ten months of 2025.

Belarus to raise Base Rate on January 1

November 21, Pozirk. The Belarusian prime minister has approved a rise in the Base Rate to 45 rubels on January1 from 40 rubels. The rate is used for calculating allowances, taxes and benefits.
