Cichanoŭskaja meets with UN General Assembly president

January 21, Pozirk. Śviatłana Cichanoŭskaja met with Annalena Baerbock, president of the UN General Assembly, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Belarus’ opposition leader’s press office reported.
Cichanoŭskaja thanked Baerbock for her support in her previous role as Germany’s foreign minister and expressed hope that her new position will enable her to attract more attention to humanitarian issues and human rights violations in Belarus.
“I very appreciate her work, resolve, activity and desire to solve the most complicated crises in the world,” Cichanoŭskaja commented on the meeting.
The World Economic Forum is being held from January 19 to 23. Cichanoŭskaja participated in it in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Baerbock also met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryžankoŭ in September 2025.
