Mechanized brigade conducts enemy detection drills in woods and swamps

January 27, Pozirk. The 19th Detached Mechanized Brigade has conducted training in wooded and marshy terrain as part of a surprise drill that started on January 16, the defense ministry’s press office reports.
Servicemen improved their sneak and peek, enemy detection and attack skills in a forest, as well as in conducting search-and-capture and security sweep operations, it noted. At the training ground, troops held live-fire exercises using grenade launchers, small arms and weapons mounted on BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles.
The exercise focused on bringing troops to combat readiness, loading supplies onto transport vehicles and marching along an unfamiliar route through wooded, swampy and rugged terrain in snowy conditions, said Alaksandar Valfovič, state secretary of the Security Council.
Yesterday, Alaksandar Łukašenka announced that the large-scale surprise drill launched 11 days ago would continue until spring.
The Belarusian army is regularly conducting drills amid tensions with the West and Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, in which Minsk supports Moscow.
