KGB brands political YouTube show as “extremist” group

April 27, Pozirk. The Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB) has branded the Chasiki Tikayut (The Clock Is Ticking) YouTube media project as an “extremist” group, says the updated official register, which now contains 363 organizations.
The KGB named exiled political analysts Arciom Šrajbman and Ryhor Astapienia, as well as journalist Jaŭhienija Suhak, as members, blacklisting the project’s YouTube channel, TikTok page, Apple podcast and a logo depicting a black broken line on a yellow background.
The YouTube channel has 6,460 subscribers. About a year ago, Astapienia announced his departure from the project and was replaced as a co-host by economic expert Leŭ Lvoŭski.
Following the crackdown on the 2020 postelection protests, authorities in Belarus have equated criticism, solidarity, advocacy, the free media and free expression to extremism and terrorism.
