Zelensky gives Łukašenka one week to shut down drone control stations
June 19, Pozirk. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has given Alaksandar Łukašenka one week to disable or shut down drone control stations in Belarus used to support Russian attacks on Ukraine.
The politician made this statement at today’s joint press conference with Nasry Asfura, president of Honduras.
If Belarus fails to act, Ukraine will “take care” of the equipment itself, he warned, noting that it would help stop murders of Ukrainian civilians.
Zelensky also said Łukašenka controls Belarus’ oil refining industry and fuel exports to Russia, suggesting he has the power to halt the process as Ukraine targets Russian oil-processing facilities to disrupt fuel supplies to the army.
The politician added that Russia would continue attempts to draw Belarus into its war against Ukraine, warning that further provocations can be expected and cited the recent attack on a Belarusian tour bus in Russia.
In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.
