BySol launches school supply fundraiser for political prisoners’ children

July 31, Pozirk. The BySol Solidarity Foundation has launched its annual school supply fundraiser for the children of political prisoners ahead of the new academic year.

The foundation said it receives around 200 requests each year from families in which one or both parents are in prison or have been convicted on political grounds. In most cases, these families are in a vulnerable situation, and preparing children for school adds to their additional financial burden.

BySol offers them €100 aid packages to cover essential expenses, such as school supplies and uniforms. Applications for assistance can be submitted until August 21, both by Belarus-based families and those residing abroad.

A similar fundraiser held last year collected nearly €20,000 in donations, helping 253 children.
