Belarus’ weather service issues 40 C heatwave alert
August 3, Pozirk. The Biełhidramiet weather service has issued a red-level warning over high temperatures on August 4 in southern Belarus, along with thunderstorm and wind alerts for the western part of the country.
The heatwave is expected to peak on August 6, with temperatures reaching up to 40 C. Biełhidramiet has issued such an alert for the first time in its history.
On June 29, Belarus reported its highest-ever temperature in the 145-year history of meteorological observations at 40.4 C in Pinsk, Brest region.
