Wildberries speeds up construction of logistics facility near Minsk

August 5, Pozirk. Russia’s Wildberrieshas accelerated the construction of a logistics center at the Chinese-Belarusian hi-tech hub Great Stone near Minsk, the hub’s top executive Kirył Karaciejeŭ has told news.by.
Current conditions in Russia are forcing the investor to build as quickly as possible, he said, without specifying whether these conditions are linked to Ukrainian drone attacks on Wildberries warehouses in Russia.
The company is currently recruiting and training staff, with specialists from Russia who have experience launching similar facilities, Karaciejeŭ said. The goal is to ensure a smooth transition to full-scale operations once construction is complete, he added.
The construction started in September 2024.
Ukraine has been regularly targeting Russia-based Wildberries warehouses since mid-July, noting that facilities handle dual-use goods and components for military equipment and therefore qualify as legitimate military targets.
The marketplace reportedly lost 17 percent of its warehouse space in Russia last month alone.
Earlier this week, the Minsk City Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers urged businesses and government agencies in a letter to the economy ministry to coordinate efforts to mitigate the impact of Wildberries warehouse fires in Russia on Belarusian companies.
In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.
