Belarus’ economy grows by 2.1 percent in seven months

April 16, Pozirk. Belarus’ statisticians reported that the country’s economic growth accelerated to 2.1 percent in the first seven months after contracting in the first three months.

The GDP deflator, which tracks inflation across the economy, rose by 13.2 percent.

Agricultural production rose by 12.9 percent in comparable prices, while industrial output grew by 0.1 percent after declining for six months in a row, reported that National Statistics Committee (Biełstat).

Retail trade increased by 8.1 percent and cargo transportation, by 1.9 percent.
