Turkish Airlines resumes Minsk flights after four-year break

September 21, Pozirk. Turkish Airlines has resumed passenger air service between Istanbul and Minsk after a break of more than four years, the Minsk National Airport reports.

The airport had previously said the Istanbul–Minsk route would operate six times a week from September 21 and increase to seven weekly flights from October 6.

The current schedule, however, shows four weekly night flights, with TK 285 departing Istanbul on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. From September 24, three additional morning flights, TK 283, will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, except September 29.

The Minsk–Istanbul flight takes about four hours, compared with five and a half hours for Biełavija, whose aircraft are barred from flying over the European Union countries.

Turkish Airlines suspended flights to Minsk in February 2022 following the launch of Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin.
