Mothers of Belarusian soldiers are misinformed from abroad about their children’s involvement in combat, their captivity and death in Ukraine, Defense Ministry claims
March 3, BPN. Mothers of Belarusian soldiers are misinformed from abroad about the participation of their children in the battles, their captivity and death in Ukraine, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Ina Harbačova said.
“Amid the spread of fake information about the participation of Belarusian army servicemen in the special military operation in Donbas, Belarusian soldier mothers, whose sons are now in military service, began to receive phone calls,” Harbačova said. “The women are misinformed that their sons are taking part in real combat operations or have been captured. In some cases, outright blasphemy is practiced: frightened women are told lies about the deaths of their sons.”
According to Harbačova, the calls come from phone numbers registered in Ukraine, Poland, the US, and Canada.
“I also have a son and I can understand the feelings every mother feels when she receives a call like this. People who commit such acts are deprived of everything human,” said the representative of the Defense Ministry. “Every Belarusian soldier’s mother can at any time contact her son through his commander or visit him in the military unit.”
“The Defense Ministry once again informs that no Belarusian servicemen are involved in the special operation in Donbas,” Harbačova said.
