According to Lukašenka, a system of “counterintelligence protection” shields workers and students from “destructive influences”
March 15, BPN. Creating “a reliable system of counter-intelligence protection of state enterprises and institutions” is one of the “measures to shield workers, students, healthcare personnel and other staff in socially important areas from destructive influences,” said Aliaksandr Lukašenka on March 15 at a meeting of the senior and operational officers of state security agencies.
“You know that I have taken specific decisions on this matter. I have given orders to the government, the KGB and other stakeholders,” Lukašenka was quoted as saying by his press service. “At today’s meeting, I would like to hear how these are implemented and what are the issues that need to be addressed at the presidential level.”
In his opinion, attempts to “intimidate people and to persuade them to betray in order to disorganize the operation of the major industrial enterprises, transport, energy and communications facilities, will continue.”
He believes that “information aggression” is going to increase, since “enormous resources have been deployed to discredit the state in the eyes of the population.”
At the same time, stressed Lukašenka, state security bodies “are currently taking all necessary measures to protect the national interests of the country.”
He instructed to pay special attention to countering cyberattacks, which are comparable to “biological weapons and even more powerful.” “There is no need for tanks, machine guns, or high-precision missiles. Massive cyber-attacks on economic entities and businesses of any country would suffice. This will be enough to turn the country upside down,” Lukašenka was convinced.
