June 10, BPN. Consumer prices rose 11.9 percent in January-May 2022, the National Statistical Committee said. Inflation was 0.7 percent in May and 17 percent in annual terms.
Food products rose in price 1 percent last month, 12.9 percent in the first five months and 19.3 percent in annual terms. Non-food products were up 1 percent, 14 percent and 18.7 percent, respectively.
Services became 0.2 percent cheaper in May, but went up 7.3 percent in January-May and 10.8 percent year on year.
The authorities planned to keep inflation within 6 percent by the end of 2022.
