Ukraine reports fortification activities in Homiel region

June 19, BPN. The Belarusian military is fortifying an area in the Homiel region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff said on June 19.

“Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces perform tasks to cover the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, fortify an area in the Homiel region and conduct electronic reconnaissance,” a spokesman for the General Staff, Oleksandr Shtupun, said.

On February 24, Russia started what it called a special military operation in Ukraine. Authorities in Minsk deny Belarusian army troops’ involvement in combat operations on the Russian side. However, Alaksandr Łukašenka admitted in the May 5 interview with AP that Russian troops entered Ukraine and launched missiles from Belarusian territory.
