Poland says Belarusian pro-democracy forces can count on its support in line with their needs

June 21, BPN. Belarusian pro-democracy forces can count on Poland’s support in line with their needs, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told the Kalinowski Conference in the European Parliament on June 21.

He said reprisals cannot stop the democratic process, which started in Belarus two years ago.

The Belarusian society has changed and is ready to join the family of democratic nations, he added.

He also highlighted the importance of the war in Ukraine. Europe should help it fight off the Russian troops, he said, adding that Ukraine’s victory would be a signal to Belarus that change is possible.

It should also support the Belarusians forced to leave their homeland and those still living under Alaksandr Łukašenka, he added.
