June 21, BPN. Belarus’ opposition leader Sviatłana Cichanoŭskaja has appealed to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to set up a steering committee for relations with Belarus, the politician’s press office quoted her as saying.
It should include Council of Europe officials and Belarus’ pro-democracy and civil society leaders, Cichanoŭskaja said on June 21 speaking at the assembly’s plenary session. “The group will work together to identify cooperation priorities. It will design, prepare and launch programs and projects of assistance and monitor their progress,” she said.
