Mikałaj Statkievič transferred to Hłybokaje prison

June 25, BPN. Veteran opposition politician Mikałaj Statkievič has been transferred from a jail in Homiel to the Hłybokaje prison in the Viciebsk region.

“Mikałaj Statkievič is at Penal Colony 13 in Hłybokaje,” his wife Maryna Adamovič wrote on Facebook.

Earlier in the week, she wrote that Statkievič was transferred to an unknown location.

In the same week, Radio Liberty consultant Ihar Łosik was reportedly transferred from Homiel to a prison in Navapołack, Viciebsk region.

The two were prosecuted in the same criminal case that involved former presidential hopeful Siarhiej Cichanoŭski.

On December 14, 2021 Statkievič was sentenced to 14 years, and Łosik to 15 years.
