US Embassy blasts lifestyle website blocking

August 26, BPN. The Belarusian authorities’ decision to block access to the CityDog online magazine is “the latest shameful move by the Łukašenka regime to curb press freedom in Belarus,” the US Embassy in Minsk has said.

“We stand with the Belarusian people in support of a vibrant space for civil society and independent media,” it tweeted on August 26.

CityDog stopped opening in Belarus on August 23. The editors said the website might have been blocked in the country, noting that they have not received any warnings or notifications from the government.
